Customer Support Representative (Entry-Level Tech Support)
Location: Athens, TX (Onsite)
Address: 1799 Enterprise St, Athens, TX 75751
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday | 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
EarthLink is hiring a Customer Support Representative to provide technical support to our business customers and help ensure the reliable operation of our telecommunications services.
This is an entry-level role and a great opportunity for someone with a strong interest in technology who wants to build hands-on experience in technical support, networking fundamentals, and customer service. If you enjoy problem-solving, learning new systems, and helping customers, this role offers a solid foundation for career growth.
This position is based on-site at our Athens, TX office and works a consistent daytime schedule.
The Responsibilities For This Position Include:
• Diagnose and resolve basic network and modem functionality issues
• Walk customers through common hardware and software configurations
• Provide support to customers in person, by phone, and via email
• Document customer interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately
• Create, update, and monitor work orders and trouble tickets
• Communicate status updates to customers throughout the resolution process
• Perform follow-up calls to confirm service restoration and customer satisfaction
• Escalate complex technical issues to Tier 2 support when needed
• Perform site surveys as assigned
What You Bring:
• Passion for technology and interest in learning technical systems
• Customer-focused attitude with strong listening skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable working with computers and learning new software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
• Previous customer service or technical support experience, preferred
• Coursework, certifications, or self-study related to IT, networking, or technology, preferred
Pay amp; Benefits
