Job Title: Bakery Prep, Morning Shift
Location: Too Sweet Cakes, Lake Oswego
Job Type: Full-Time (35-40 hrs per week)
Shift: 4:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. approximately (7-10 hr shifts depending on business need);

Days: Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Pay: $17-18/hr

Job Description:
Too Sweet Cakes is seeking an early-morning Bakery Prep team member to support our daily retail bake. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced bakery environment, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in organization, accuracy, and teamwork.

You'll play a key role in preparing, packaging, and organizing baked goods for retail while supporting the baking team during the morning production window. This position is essential to ensuring our products are ready and beautifully presented for customers each day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Morning Bake Support: Assist the baking team with prep tasks and production support during the early morning bake.
  • Packaging & Labeling: Package baked goods accurately and efficiently, including labeling, dating, and organizing products according to bakery standards.
  • Prep Work: Perform basic bakery prep tasks such as assembling components, portioning, and staging items for bakers.
  • Organization & Stocking: Set up and maintain packaging stations, restock supplies, and keep prep and storage areas orderly.
  • Cleanliness & Sanitation: Maintain a clean and food-safe workspace, including workstations, equipment, and common areas, following all health and safety guidelines.
  • Dishwashing & Cleanup: Support dishwashing and general cleanup to keep production running smoothly.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate clearly with bakers and kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and on-time retail readiness.
  • Reliability & Initiative: Arrive on time for early shifts, stay focused during fast-paced mornings, and step in where help is needed.

Requirements

  • Dependable and punctual, with the ability to consistently arrive on time for a 4:00 a.m. start.
  • Willingness to take on a variety of tasks, with a strong focus on packaging, prep, and supporting the morning bake.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, switch between tasks, and maintain focus in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with labeling, dating, and organizing products.
