Job description

Job Title – Video Production Technician

Position Type – Part-Time, including Sundays

Reports to – Manager of AVL (Audio, Video and Lighting)

Compensation - $130/service or $26/hour

WHOM WE SEEK:

Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and creative Video Production Technician. This position is responsible for supporting the church’s online worship experience through video switching and broadcast production. Working closely with the camera operator and other production team members, this position helps deliver a high-quality livestream experience for our Sunday services, and other special events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate the video switcher in coordination with the director and camera operator to execute shots
  • Assist with service rehearsals and pre-production preparation
  • Cross-train in camera operation and provide coverage as needed
  • Help maintain cameras, switchers, and organized production spaces
  • Support concerts, conferences, funerals, and weddings as needed
  • Provide general AVL assistance as needed

Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of live video production and livestream workflows
  • Familiarity with video switchers, cameras, and broadcast terminology
  • Working knowledge of video signal flow and troubleshooting fundamentals
  • Understanding of teamwork and communication within a live production environment

Skills

  • Ability to work effectively with the camera operator and AVL staff
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to learn new technologies and workflows
  • Excellent organization and communication skills

Experience

  • Two (2) years of experience in live video production, broadcast production, church production, or a related field preferred
  • Experience operating video switchers and/or cameras required
  • Experience serving in a church environment preferred
