• Conduct thorough clinical assessments to evaluate the psychosocial needs of patients and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to individual circumstances.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including solution-focused therapy and cognitive behavioral techniques, to support patients and their families in managing grief and loss.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans in our electronic health record system, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and chaplains, to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.
• Provide education, resources, and support to families on coping strategies and available community resources to assist them during their experience with hospice care.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in mental health and hospice care to continuously enhance the quality of services provided.

The patients served by our hospice center in Ulysses, Kansas, typically face terminal illnesses and require compassionate support to address the complex emotional and psychological challenges accompanying end-of-life care. As an LCSW, you will work with a varied patient population, including individuals with chronic illnesses, their families, and caregivers, providing essential support through counseling and psychotherapy.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the state of Kansas.
• Proficiency in solution-based psychotherapy techniques and the ability to apply them in a hospice care context.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey sensitive information and provide empathetic support to patients and families.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex emotional and interpersonal dynamics.

• Previous experience in hospice, palliative care, or a related medical setting will be advantageous.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as Epic or Cerner, is a plus.
• Experience collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team is preferred.
