Private single-dentist office | Tuesday–Friday schedule | One-hour hygiene appointments

Sutton Advanced Dentistry is a well-established, modern, single-dentist private practice in San Diego looking for a kind, talented, punctual, patient-centered Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team long term.

We have an established hygiene program, and this position would work alongside another full-time RDH who is staying with the practice. We schedule one-hour hygiene appointments and value thorough, gentle, relationship-based care rather than rushed volume dentistry.

We are looking for someone who is clinically strong, reliable, professional, good with patients, and enjoys being part of a positive team.

Schedule

Tuesday: 7:15 AM – 4:45 PM, with 1-hour lunch
Wednesday: 7:15 AM – 4:45 PM, with 1-hour lunch
Thursday: 7:15 AM – 4:45 PM, with 1-hour lunch
Friday: 7:15 AM – 12:15 PM

No weekends.
Approximately 30.5 paid hours per week.

About Our Office

We are a private, single-dentist office with a long-standing patient base. Our practice is clean, organized, modern, and patient-focused. We are a cash and PPO office, not corporate DSO, and we value quality care, professionalism, and excellent patient relationships.

Our office includes large operatories, a comfortable break room, modern sterilization, easy parking, and convenient access.

Digital x-rays
Panoramic imaging
Piezo-electric scalers
CEREC / intraoral scanning
Eaglesoft practice management software
Modern sterilization systems

Appointment Style

We schedule one-hour hygiene appointments. Our focus is quality preventative and restorative care.  We prioritize communication, accurate documentation, and helping patients understand their oral health.

Our RDHs are important members of the clinical team. The hygienist will chart findings and discuss those findings with the doctor to help support diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient education.

RDH Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

Prophylaxis
Periodontal maintenance
Scaling and root planing
Fluoride application
Oral hygiene instruction
Periodontal charting
Reviewing periodontal findings with the doctor
Taking BWX, panoramic x-rays, and PAs as needed
Assisting the doctor with periodic and annual exams
Basic Eaglesoft proficiency
Patient education and communication
Sterilization and operatory turnover as needed
Working collaboratively with the doctor and team

Requirements

Active California RDH license
Current CPR/BLS certification
Local anesthesia certification required
Nitrous oxide certification preferred, if applicable
Ability to take BWX, PAs, and panoramic x-rays
Comfort with periodontal charting and documentation
Eaglesoft experience preferred
Experience preferred, but we are open to the right candidate
