Job description

Job Title: Senior Designer (Plant 3D / Civil 3D)
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract (1-Year, potential extension)
Pay Rate: $60 - $65 per hour (DOE)


About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Designer with strong expertise in Plant 3D and Civil 3D to lead design efforts on complex utility and infrastructure projects. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can drive design accuracy, support project delivery, and mentor junior team members.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced piping and civil design for transmission and facility projects
  • Develop and review 3D models, layouts, and detailed design drawings
  • Produce plan and profile drawings, P&IDs, and as-built documentation
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure design intent and project timelines are met
  • Conduct design and model reviews, ensuring compliance with standards and specifications
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level designers
  • Perform field visits to validate site conditions and support design accuracy
  • Support QA/QC processes and ensure high-quality deliverables

Qualifications

  • 5 + years of professional design experience
  • Proven experience in utility, infrastructure, or industrial projects
  • Demonstrated leadership in design execution and team coordination
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards and construction practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities


Required Software Experience

  • AutoCAD Plant 3D (expert level, hands-on)
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D (expert level, hands-on)
  • Strong experience with P&IDs, piping layouts, and plan/profile development
