Job description

This is an exciting and fulfilling opportunity with Zachry Group's Project Engineering Systems team. We are looking for an individual who is motivated and eager to contribute and learn. The Engineering Delivery Systems Analyst III will work with project stakeholders in support of 2D/3D CADD software and related technologies and processes. The position will serve as a high-level technical role supporting systems based in Charlotte, NC.

What you will need:

  • Completed post-secondary program in a related discipline (e.g., CADD design, computer science, engineering, building construction).

  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in multi-discipline Engineering projects with AVEVA E3D2D/3D CADD support as a primary duty in a professional position.
  • Advanced understanding of design workflow, Engineering / Procurement / Construction (EPC) lifecycle, data management practices, database technologies, project data lifecycles and domains.

  • Proven experience utilizing AVEVA's Engineering Platform and integrating it with other data-driven software tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral communication, presentation and writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Adept at interpreting complex data and documents with attention to detail and accuracy. 

 

What is an added plus?

  • Bachelor or higher degree in a related field

  • Education and work experience in the Engineering Piping or Structural discipline 
  • Comprehensive knowledge at a system administrator level of one or more of the following platforms:
    • Autocad Plant 3D, Civil 3D, Advanced Steel, Revit, Navisworks, Vault
    • Bentley OpenPlant Modeler, Iso Manager, P&ID, OPSE, Microstation, STAAD, ProjectWise
    • Aveva E3D, P&ID, Engineering, Catalog Manager, Electrical, Global 
    • Intergraph SmartPlant 3D, CADWorx, SPR, Isogen, P&ID, Electrical, Instrumentation 
  • Experience implementing and supporting 3D CADD solutions for large (>$500M) EPC projects.

  • Knowledge of ISO-15926 

  • Experience with BIM software by Autodesk, Bentley, or others

  • Working knowledge for interchange of digital data between various CADD and BIM platforms

  • Working knowledge of Advanced Work Packaging as it relates to an EPC project.


What can you expect the physical demands to be?

Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry, and move objects safely.

Light domestic and, potentially, some international travel required.

What will the work environment be like?

Will work in a general office environment. Capable of operating and functioning in a fast-paced work environment. Must possess a vision (corrected or uncorrected) that allows for clear visibility from a distance of 20 inches or less.

What you will do as an Engineering Delivery Systems Analyst III:

  • Setup and maintain project 2D/3D CADD systems to enable production of mechanical, piping, process, civil, structural, and electrical project deliverables. This includes:
    • Creating project workspaces and new catalog components.
    • Configuring security, templates, reports, and dashboards. 
    • Ensuring CADD standards are consistent across all Zachry Engineering centers.
    • Administering project specifications. 
  • Translate models and project deliverable between different CAD systems and data formats.
  • Provide on-call support, conferring with users and vendors, troubleshooting, and resolution.
  • Maintain contact with internal and external clients for clarification and resolution of issues. 
  • Identify training requirements, develop documents, and conduct remote and on-site training.
  • Analyze processes and workflows and research and evaluate software.
  • Gather and document business and functional requirements and technical specifications.
  • Configure, test, implement, and upgrade tools to enhance design efficiency, quality, & collaboration.
  • Develop solution reference documents (e.g., configuration guides, test scripts, deployment manual).
  • Monitor implemented systems to ensure data reliability, integrity, and governance.
  • Provide support to other functional IM areas that depend on design and engineering systems. 
  • Support execution of work instructions in project IT execution and implementation plans.
  • Assist with cost, schedule, and resource estimates for project technology solutions. 
  • Lead coordination with stakeholders to specify and plan project design and engineering systems.
  • Assist with vendor management and Design and Engineering software inventory maintenance.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of best practices relative to the management, control, administration, and use of the respective applications.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of methodologies and technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with other analysts for knowledge sharing and transparency. 
  • Other duties, projects and assignments as assigned.
