Job description

Amatrol is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Powder Coat Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you'll help produce high-quality components used in industry-leading technical training systems that equip people around the world with valuable workforce skills.

What You'll Do

As a Powder Coat Technician, you'll play an important role in ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards by:

  • Preparing metal surfaces through cleaning, sanding, deburring, and other finishing processes
  • Applying powder coat finishes using electrostatic spray equipment
  • Monitoring coating thickness, coverage, and finish quality
  • Inspecting finished parts and performing touch-ups when needed
  • Identifying coating defects and troubleshooting surface preparation issues
  • Following production procedures, work instructions, and quality standards
  • Maintaining powder coating booths, equipment, and work areas
  • Performing routine preventive maintenance and cleaning
  • Recording production quantities and scrap accurately
  • Supporting fabrication and production operations by staging parts and transporting materials
  • Following all safety requirements related to powders, chemicals, ventilation systems, and manufacturing equipment
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of powder coat experience
  • Experience using hand tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and stay organized
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
Preferred Qualifications
  • Metal fabrication experience
  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings or blueprints
  • Forklift experience
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment
