Case Manager Internship
Position Title: 
Young Workers Intern
Position Summary:
The Young Workers Intern provides programmatic, administrative, and outreach support to workforce development services. This role assists with participant recruitment, enrollment, assessment, and data tracking to ensure compliance with program requirements and effective service delivery. The intern will gain hands-on experience in case management, workforce services, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Outreach & Recruitment:
  • Monitor and respond to Asana inquiries, including filtering and routing prospective participant leads
  • Schedule appointments, orientations, and follow-ups with interested participants
  • Support planning and execution of recruiting events, workshops, and community outreach activities
  • Represent the program at outreach events and assist with community engagement efforts
  • Maintain accurate outreach logs and records of contacts and activities
  • Conduct existing participant follow-up to ensure continued engagement and service completion
  • Assist in identifying and engaging target populations for workforce services
Enrollment Assistance:
  • Support eligibility screening and intake process for new participants
  • Assist participants with completing intake forms and required documentation
  • Ensure all enrollment documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with WIOA guidelines
  • Provide general guidance to participants regarding program services and expectations
  • Maintain organized digital participant files and documentation
Assessment & Testing (CASAS):
  • Facilitate and proctor CASAS assessments (pre- and post-testing)
  • Assist with scoring and grading assessments
  • Ensure proper documentation of assessment results for reporting and placement purposes
  • Provide basic participant guidance during testing sessions
  • Assist with follow-up related to assessment completion and retesting schedules
     (CASAS systems are used for placement, progress tracking, and program accountability in workforce programs)
Data Entry & Reporting:
  • Perform data entry into program case management database (CalJobs system)
  • Assist with maintaining accurate and timely reporting for performance tracking
  • Verify data accuracy and completeness for compliance purposes
  • Support preparation of reports and documentation for audits or monitoring
Administrative Support:
  • Perform general administrative tasks (scanning, filing, document tracking, scheduling)
  • Assist staff with program documentation and compliance requirements
  • Participate in team meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks
  • Support coordination between staff, participants, and partner agencies


Qualifications:
  • Interest in workforce development, education, or social services
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and/or data systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with diverse or underserved populations
  • Familiarity with case management systems or CRM tools (e.g., Asana, CalJobs)
  • Bilingual skills (preferred but not required)
