What You'll Do
As a Staff Assistant for Duke Capital Partners, you will provide high-level administrative support to help ensure efficient daily operations. This role requires exceptional organization, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information while supporting a dynamic entrepreneurial and investment-focused team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Duke Capital Partners (DCP)) staff with administration duties including but not limited to:
- Coordinate and schedule meetings and events
- Coordinate travel arrangements
- Prepare travel and expense reimbursement reports
- Order and direct catering
- Answer and respond to incoming phone calls and emails
  • Work collaboratively with other administrative staff, providing back up support as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of complex reports, proposals, legal agreement and other documents requiring the compilation, analysis and evaluation of data.
  • Review documents received for supervisor; check and compare with source documents and bring significant items, changes, errors or omissions to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Perform reception duties to greet and direct office visitors.
  • Order and stock office and breakroom supplies.
  • Control and maintain electronic and/or hardcopy files of records, reports and correspondence required for reference and efficient office operations; Maintain up-to-date procedures, directives and related records.
  • Assist with human resources duties such as time tracking, recruiting, staff meetings/outings and performance review scheduling.
  • As assigned, cross-train and assist in completing office operations duties, including but not limited to agreement entry, invoice payment, purchase order requests, website content maintenance, etc.

What You'll Bring
Education
  • Work requires a broad knowledge of clerical and accounting principles and practices normally acquired through two years of post-secondary education in administrative support or a related business field.

Experience
  • Work generally requires four years of related secretarial/clerical experience to acquire skills necessary to administer complex office functions related to office management, communications, and budgetary/accounting activities OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Skills
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
  • Experience working with databases and business systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Duke systems and processes is a plus.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $21.20 to USD $31.24. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
