This position is based onsite at our hospital facility in Fresno, California. Our dermatology unit is characterized by a diverse patient population, providing a wide range of dermatological services.

• Utilize advanced medical knowledge and clinical skills to evaluate and manage a patient caseload, focusing on diagnosis, treatment plans, and patient follow-up.
• Prescribe and administer medications as directed by the supervising physician, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines.
• Order, interpret, and act on results from diagnostic tests to inform decision-making and patient management.
• Engage with patients and their families, providing education about health promotion, disease prevention, and management strategies tailored to individual needs.
• Continuous application of current clinical practices by participating in departmental quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education.
• Effectively communicate with patients, families, and team members to ensure seamless care and eliminate barriers to treatment.
• Document patient encounters thoroughly in the electronic health record system, following legal and organizational standards.

The dermatology department serves a wide range of patients from diverse backgrounds, including children, adults, and the elderly. As a Physician Assistant, you will provide specialist care for conditions ranging from common skin issues to complex dermatological diseases. Understanding the unique physiological and psychological aspects of each age group will be crucial in delivering effective care tailored to the specific needs and concerns of your patients.

• Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Current PA certification by the Medical Board, allowing practice in California.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in a dermatology setting is strongly preferred.

• Experience in a hospital setting, specifically within dermatology services.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and a commitment to utilizing technology to enhance patient care.
• Proficiency in procedures commonly performed in dermatology, such as biopsies, cryotherapy, and excisions.
