Job: Food Service Worker
Hours: Part Time, variable hours between 6am-9pm, 20 hours per week. Every other Weekend/Holiday
Location: Lancaster General Hospital- 555 N Duke Street Lancaster, PA
Position Summary
  • Cleans and sanitizes food production and service equipment and facilities
  • Maintains an adequate supply of clean production and service ware
  • Transports items and supports kitchen and tray line operations as needed
  • Helps ensure a clean, safe, and efficient food service environment
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare sanitation equipment and organize work areas for efficiency
  • Operate dishwashing/sanitation equipment or manually clean items per procedures
  • Ensure all items are properly cleaned, sanitized, and dried
  • Maintain sufficient levels of clean dishes, utensils, and service ware
  • Transport cleaned items to designated production and service areas
  • Disassemble and clean sanitation equipment regularly
  • Clean food production equipment following established guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness of all food production and sanitation areas
  • Follow recycling procedures, including:
    • Washing and sorting recyclable materials (cans, cardboard, glass, paper)
    • Transporting recyclables to designated storage areas
  • Remove and transport trash to appropriate disposal or holding areas
  • Maintain trash carts and compactor areas in clean and sanitary condition
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient tray assembly line as needed
  • Complete required training, including diet-related training programs
  • Support meal assembly and service when assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
Work Schedule
  • Variable shifts between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM
  • Includes every other weekend
  • Includes every other holiday
