Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
Serve as the Key Account Manager for Duke Energy responsible for developing and maintaining a deep understanding the customers culture, needs, business objectives, and business strategy. This role is a replacement to ensure business continuity at Duke Energy within the North American, Markets & Customers organization. The role is critical for maintaining and growing this key customer relationship and directly supporting regional business objectives. To achieve this, the role is structured around three core areas: Strategic Account & Relationship Management to nurture and expand the client partnership, Business Development to drive revenue growth across the Siemens Energy portfolio, and Commercial & Market Strategy to position our offerings effectively. The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in strategic selling, negotiation, and executive-level relationship building, supported by a strong business or technical background. Additionally, the person will be responsible for business and market development within the states of North Carolina and South Carolina which includes calling on additional customers from a strategic perspective, attending local conferences and association events, etc. This individual will report to the Vice President of the Region.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Strategic Account & Relationship Management
    • Develop and execute medium to long-range strategic account plans to protect, grow, and diversify the relationship with Duke Energy.
    • Establish and maintain strong, multi-level customer relationships, including engagement with executive leadership to align strategic objectives.
    • Be a central point of contact for the client to ensure high-quality service, provide assistance in resolving complex issues while driving overall customer satisfaction.
    • Organize and lead executive sponsor meetings between Duke Energy and Siemens Energy senior management to strengthen the partnership.
  • Business Development & Sales
    • Promoting with BA sales teams to ensure Siemens Energy's full portfolio of products, services, and solutions.
    • BA sales teams are responsible for the sales process at all accounts, including key accounts. KAM's will support BA sales teams as requested, and BA sales teams will ensure that KAM is is transparently updated as sales engagements progress.
    • Monitor and ensure account targets are met and new business goals are achieved..
    • Work with BA sales to ensure sales forecasts within the CRM system are complete and accurate.
  • Commercial & Market Strategy
    • Maintain expert knowledge of the Siemens Energy portfolio, market landscape, competitor activities, and industry trends relevant to Duke Energy.
    • Develop and articulate compelling value propositions and commercial strategies tailored to the customer's specific needs and business drivers.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in key account management, strategic sales, or business development, with a proven track record in the energy sector. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead an account strategy for large complex customers and align internal BA sales teams to close large, complex projects and build strong executive-level relationships.
  • Travel, as needed (~50%).
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
