Member Services Student Attendant

As a Member Services Student Attendant (Part-Time Staff) with Duke Recreation & Physical Education, you'll play an essential role in supporting our diverse Duke community by delivering exceptional service and ensuring a positive experience for every member and guest.
You'll work closely with the Assistant Director of Memberships and the recreation facilities team, serving as a trusted, knowledgeable point of contact for membership services across Duke's recreation centers.

What You'll Do:
  • Support the Assistant Director of Memberships with daily administrative and operational tasks related to membership management
  • Provide front-line customer service, assisting with membership inquiries, purchases, renewals, and account support
  • Process payments, refunds, and account adjustments accurately and securely
  • Troubleshoot membership access and account issues, coordinating with IT, Guest Services, and facility staff as needed
  • Maintain accurate digital and paper records, ensuring confidentiality, data privacy, and compliance with departmental standards
  • Assist with membership reporting, outreach initiatives, Duke community tabling opportunities, and retention efforts
  • Uphold Duke Rec & P.E.'s customer service, inclusion, and professionalism standards in all interactions

What We're Looking For:
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; prior service or administrative experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfort using computer systems, membership software, and mobile applications (Fusion experience preferred)
  • Professionalism, reliability, and discretion when handling member information
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty/staff, alumni, community members, and campus partners
