Brief Company Description
AGC Heat Transfer, Inc.,ย  is the leading OEM of sanitary plate heat exchangers in North America, manufacturing plate heat exchangers specifically designed for sanitary applications. AGC offers complete heat exchangers, services as well as upgrades to plate packs, gaskets and spares that fit multiple brands.ย  In addition, AGC offers Field Leak Testing and inspections of plate heat exchangers that meet the 3-A sanitary standard.
AGC Heat Transfer consists of four manufacturing/service facilities (Bristow, VA, Fairview, OR,ย  Pleasant Prairie, WI & Fort Worth, TX with about 110 employees (90 OR / 20 VA / 30 other locations).ย  Currently, most of the sales are in the US & Canada.ย  AGC Heat Transfer has a strong engineering culture with a heavy emphasis on customer service and technical/consultative sales.ย 
Job Description
As a Dual Shield Welder II, the employee will perform a wide range of tasks. Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:ย 
Position Responsibilities
  • Fit, tack, assemble and weld mild steel plate up to one inch on complex plate exchanger components per drawings.
  • Layout more complex heat exchanger components.
  • Sand welds per drawings as needed.
  • Material handling (forklift, pallet jack)
  • Safely use small tools and equipment to complete daily tasks.
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Keep work areas clean.
  • Actively participate in continuous safety and production improvement efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications
  • 2+ year previous Dual Shield mild steel welding using .045 wire experience required.ย  All candidates required to pass welding test.
  • Comfortable welding large plate heat exchanger components.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic addition and subtraction/Reading and writing skills. Able to read tape measure in fractions of an inch.
  • Read and follow drawings.
  • Ability to follow directions and focus on completing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must be willing to work on a wide range of tasks and flexible to changing priorities.
  • Wear all appropriate PPE.
  • Ability to follow safety rules and the 5s principles of a work environment.
  • Ability to do repetitive work including walking and lifting for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
Job Type
  • Full Time, Non-Exempt
  • Position will work with first shift (5am-1:30pm) for three (3) months before transitioning to swing shift schedule.
Wage
  • $25.00 - $26.00/hour
  • 10%ย hourly shift differential upon working on 2nd shift schedule (4 - 10 hour days)
