How much do drywall professional jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 16, 2026, the average hourly pay for drywall professional in the United States is $22.74, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $19.23 and $25.24 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs make $10,000 a month without a degree?

For drywall professionals, high earnings of $10,000 or more per month are uncommon without significant experience, specialization, or owning a successful business. Generally, skilled trades like drywall installation can reach high income levels through project-based work, overtime, or contracting, but such earnings are typically achieved after years of experience or business growth. Most jobs with this income level require specialized skills, certifications, or entrepreneurial efforts rather than just a standard role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Drywall Professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Drywall Professional, you need strong skills in measuring, cutting, installing, and finishing drywall, typically backed by a high school diploma and on-the-job training or apprenticeship. Familiarity with hand and power tools, taping compounds, and safety equipment is essential, and OSHA safety certification is often valued. Attention to detail, good communication, and physical stamina are standout soft skills in this role. These abilities ensure high-quality workmanship, safe practices, and effective collaboration on construction sites.

What is the difference between Drywall Professional vs Drywall Installer?

In summary, a Drywall Professional often encompasses a broader skill set, including finishing and repair, while a Drywall Installer mainly focuses on the installation process. Both roles are essential in drywall projects, but the Professional typically has more comprehensive training and responsibilities.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

For drywall professionals, earning $2,000 a day typically requires working on large, high-value projects or in specialized roles such as commercial or industrial drywall installation, often involving overtime or high-demand skills. Such earnings are usually associated with experienced contractors, union jobs, or those with specialized certifications working in lucrative markets. Most drywall jobs pay hourly or per project, with high daily earnings possible in large-scale or high-end construction environments.

What are some common challenges Drywall Professionals face on the job, and how can they be addressed?

Drywall Professionals often encounter challenges such as working in tight or awkward spaces, ensuring seamless joints and finishes, and managing dust and debris. Addressing these challenges involves using specialized tools for hard-to-reach areas, applying proper taping and mudding techniques, and implementing dust control measures such as sanding with vacuum attachments and using protective gear. Collaboration with other trades is also key, as coordinating timelines with electricians and plumbers can help prevent rework and delays.

What are drywall professionals?

Drywall professionals, also known as drywall installers or drywallers, are skilled tradespeople who install and finish drywall panels in buildings. They measure, cut, and hang drywall sheets on walls and ceilings, then tape, mud, and sand the seams to create a smooth surface ready for painting or finishing. Drywall professionals may also repair or replace damaged drywall, work on new construction and renovation projects, and ensure surfaces are level and properly finished to meet building codes and aesthetic standards.

What jobs pay 500,000 a year in the US?

For drywall professionals, earning $500,000 annually typically requires advanced skills, extensive experience, and often owning a successful contracting business. High earnings are usually associated with specialized or large-scale projects, management roles, or owning a profitable enterprise in the construction industry.

How much do drywallers make per job?

Drywallers typically earn between $200 and $1,000 per job, depending on the size and complexity of the project, as well as their experience and location. Larger or more detailed installations tend to pay more, and skilled drywallers can charge higher rates for specialized work or quick completion times.
