Description:

MDVIP: Transforming Primary Care, One Patient at a Time

MDVIP is a national leader in personalized healthcare, empowering over 400,000 members to achieve their health and wellness goals through a network of more than 1,200+ primary care physicians. Our program emphasizes preventive medicine, offering comprehensive screenings, advanced diagnostics, and individualized wellness plans. Recognized as a Great Place to Work® since 2018, MDVIP is committed to excellence I patient care and employee satisfaction.

Role Summary

MDVIP's website is the primary digital touchpoint for prospective patients, physicians, and employers to learn about MDVIP and connect with us. Patients can search for doctors, enroll, and pay online. Our goal is to expand the website's capabilities to accelerate organic growth and drive conversions.

We are looking for a Technical Product Owner to lead the end-to-end delivery of key digital initiatives for our website and online enrollment experience, with a focus on enhancing user experience and accelerating organic growth and conversions. This role also owns the technical backlog for ongoing operational support, maintaining the reliability, scalability, and security of our web platform. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, design, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to define requirements, manage the backlog, facilitate Scrum ceremonies, and ensure the successful, on-time delivery of digital solutions that support both business and technical objectives. The ideal candidate balances urgency with discipline, acting as a single point of accountability for delivering durable, auditable, high-value outcomes.

What You’ll Do

Drive and Maintain Website Product backlog

  • Own and prioritize the website product backlog in alignment with Marketing roadmap, translating business goals, customer needs, and technical constraints into clear, well-structured user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and prioritize requirements aligned with strategic goals.
  • Define and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, success metrics and technical documentation.
  • Ensure alignment between product vision, technical feasibility, and user needs.
  • Use analytics, feedback, and industry trends to continuously enhance product.
  • Define and track success metrics for website features and initiatives (conversion, engagement, performance, SEO, A/B test results, etc.)

Project & Delivery Management

  • Manage day-to-day delivery of features, enhancements, and support operations.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives).
  • Champion an AI-first approach to product development: identifying opportunities to use AI tools and workflows to speed up discovery, development, testing, and delivery.
  • Collaborating with engineering leads to define timelines, dependencies, and technical milestones.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve blockers, and escalate risks as needed to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Coordinate across multiple workstreams, ensuring cross-functional alignment and delivery transparency.
  • Support release planning and communication of release content and timelines.
  • Perform hands-on testing of new features and releases, including functional, regression, and UAT testing across desktop and mobile.
  • Build and maintain automated test coverage (or partner closely with QA/engineering to do so) to support faster, more reliable releases.
  • Coordinate with our web platform providers and other integration partners for ongoing enhancements and support.

Who You Are

  • Experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role on a technical/website product team.
  • Comfortable reading and discussing technical concepts (APIs, data structures, system architecture) with engineers, even without a hands-on coding background.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to clarify business needs and convert them into well-defined technical backlog.
  • Skilled at prioritization; you can say no gracefully and explain the "why" behind sequencing decisions.
  • Data-informed decision-maker who ties backlog priorities back to measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborative leader, building trust with both stakeholders and engineers, and navigating competing priorities without losing team goodwill.
  • The kind of person who’s already using AI tools before anyone on the team has heard of them. The kind of person who knows when to trust the output and when not to, and how to trust but verify.
  • Self-directed and accountable. You manage your own work, follow through without micromanagement, and raise blockers early.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or related field; 2+ years as a Technical Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or similar role delivering software products and services.
  • Knowledge and experience with website platforms/CMS, preferably Acquia, Drupal, Azure, e-commerce, or personalization/analytics tool.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, SQL, and CSS; React experience preferred.
  • Solid grasp of core web concepts — SEO fundamentals, site performance, accessibility, and A/B testing methodology
  • Led a meaningful digital initiative — website CRO, SEO, integrations with analytics/privacy partners, etc.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum practices and tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience managing a product backlog in collaboration with Engineering and TechOps, driving toward delivery.
  • Active, daily use of AI tools (Claude Code, Copilot, or similar) as a force multiplier.
