Designer/Front-End Developer

A direct Minneapolis client seeks a Designer/Front-End Developer.

The client is seeking a designer/front end developer with experience building Drupal themes to assist the Drupal service team with the rollout of a site creation tool. This developer will create multiple themes that will be available to sites created with this tool. Themes should be responsive, meet accessibility standards, adhere to principles of effective UX design, and comply with University brand policy.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: 


Qualifications

Required: 


Custom Drupal (responsive) theme/sub-theme development, including HTML5/CSS3 and JavaScript/jQuery components

Incorporation of usability and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0) into website design

Quality Assurance (QA) design and testing in cross-browser, cross-platform, and/or cross-device compatibility for design inconsistencies

Use of git for source code management

Ensure continuity, look-and-feel and adherence to branding standards

Provide informed recommendations for design and layout, behavior and functionality of websites through general knowledge of UI and UX best practices

Use responsive design techniques for web development across multiple platforms

Design mockups and wireframes


Preferred: 

Experience building Drupal tools style and layout plugins

Familiarity with Panels / Panelizer-based Drupal 7 site building
