Job description

JOB SUMMARYThis Maintenance Technician I position performs labor intensive tasks and routine maintenance to equipment on a daily basis for the City of Conroe's Wastewater Treatment Plants. QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent with six months of minimum experience.Must possess a valid Class C driver's license or higher.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of wastewater treatment plants.Skill in operating a variety of equipment.Ability to obtain relevant certifications or licenses.Ability to understand and follow the City of Conroe and departmental policies and procedures.Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe work is heavy and requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.BENEFITSThe City of Conroe offers great benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, retirement plan, employee assistance program, paid time off and free membership at the City's pool and recreation center facilities.
