We are seeking a positive, outgoing, and self-motivated person to join the Risk Management team. The Drug/Alcohol Testing Program Coordinator supports the company's drug/alcohol testing program and helps ensure compliance with applicable Federal (FMCSA, DOT) and state regulations, as well as company policies. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is highly organized, pays close attention to detail, enjoys helping others, and is eager to learn.

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as a contact for pre-hire drug/alcohol screens, motor vehicle record reports, and pre-employment inquiries.
  • Provide support and guidance for post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and other drug/alcohol testing.
  • Report drug/alcohol testing results as appropriate to management accurately and timely.
  • Support U-Haul Team to ensure compliance with federal and state DOT regulations.
  • Process Department of Transportation verifications and history checks.
  • Process requests for initial and annual motor vehicle reports.
  • Effectively communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing.
  • Complete Employment Verifications for previous team members.
  • Maintain accurate records for motor vehicle reports and drug/alcohol tests results in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with third party vendors to ensure information is distributed accurately.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with employee records and information.
  • Conduct routine reviews of USDOT regulated drivers and vehicle files.
  • Ensure completed assignments meet deadlines and follow all regulatory, corporate, and departmental standards.
  • Assist with Substance Abuse Leave (SAL) tracking to ensure appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
  • Continuously gather feedback on new/existing tools and processes to make improvements and increase efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with vendors, U-Haul field team, Risk Management teams, and other U-Haul departments.
  • Review & disseminate RPCs (Report a Potential Claim) during normal business hours and "after-hours" (rotational)

Skills, Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years' experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Experience working with Driver Qualification files, vehicle inspection reports, driver daily logs and driver safety reports preferred.
  • Handle sensitive/confidential information and/or data with a high degree of discretion.
  • Forward-thinking, energetic and desire for growing responsibility.
  • Naturally successful in quickly developing relationships, rapport and trust with individuals and teams.
  • Strong aptitude for technology.
  • Ability to act and respond under pressure and do so with quality results and professionalism.
