Job description

Job Opportunity: Diesel Technician Apprentice 

DRT is excited to offer a full-time opportunity for a diesel technician apprentice, or someone who is mechanically inclined and wants to gain hands-on experience in tractor/trailer repair and maintenance industry. This position will provide valuable real-world training and experience for the right candidate.    

What you’ll do:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on semi-trailers in accordance with DOT standards
  • Remove and replace tires, brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races, and related components
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and lighting systems
  • Repair or replace chassis components, including springs, spring hangers, equalizers, slider assemblies, axles, and subframes
  • Repair mud flap brackets and dolly leg assemblies
  • Repair or replace trailer flooring, rub rails, doors, and door trim
  • Perform structural repairs to roofs, panels, nose panels, and upper/lower rails
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units
  • Support preventative maintenance and basic repairs on tractors
