Our innovative, award-winning ride-share platform is seeking independent contractors in Charlottesville!


Are you looking to partner with a company that helps seniors and those who need an extra helping hand?


Do you enjoy driving and helping people?


Our unique transportation service helps seniors and people with disabilities with trips to the doctor, social outings, and more by providing personal service and an extra helping hand.


For this contract opportunity you will need access to an eligible personal vehicle.


Service hours are Monday-Friday, 7am-11am and 1pm-5pm.


Essential Contractor Requirements

  • Valid VA driver's license and clean driving record
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • 21 or older
  • 4-door sedan, minivan or compact SUV from 2015 or newer
  • At least one year experience working with seniors aged 55+
  • Ability to pass background check; no felonies or DUI/DWIs
  • Current vaccinations: Covid and Influenza (or be willing to sign declination forms and wear a mask)


Client Credentialing Requirements Each of our clients has different credentialing requirements. As an independent contractor, if you don't have the required credentials for a particular client contract, or if they require new training, SilverRide can either provide that training or direct you to appropriate resources.


Possible requirements include:

  • Drug testing
  • DOT Physical (medical certificate), including TB testing
  • CPR certification
  • Defensive Driving course completion


Contractor Compensation

  • $32/hour (from first pick-up to last drop-off)
  • $200 completion bonus with first payment
  • Weekly payment via direct deposit
  • Occupational accident insurance coverage provided
