Fresh out of CDL school and ready to start earning? American Driver runs a structured, paid training program built specifically for new Class A drivers. No simulators, no classrooms—just real freight, real mentorship, and a guaranteed pay path from your first week behind the wheel.
Pay Structure and Progression
We protect your paycheck while you gain experience. Here is exactly what you will earn:
- During Training (Weeks 1–6): $650 / week (Flat rate while driving with a mentor).
- First 3 Months Solo: $0.56 / mile with a $1,000 / week minimum guarantee.
- After 3 Months: Pay climbs to $0.56–$0.64 / mile (Averaging $1,200 to $1,700 / week).
How the Training Works

- Proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections (DVIRs).
- Professional dispatch communication and company procedures.
