Overview
Xpress Global Systems (XGS) is the best-in-class service provider in the nationwide transportation of floorcovering. We provide a broad range of services including LTL, Truckload, Return Management, Warehousing, Cutting, and Fulfillment for our valued customers. The Driver Recruiter is responsible for contacting and screening qualified driver applicants to fill open positions at our facilities, while maintaining current knowledge of transportation rules, regulations, and XGS minimum hiring requirements. This person will also help with onboarding, so knowledge of HR is strongly preferred.
This role is eligible for incentive. Earn base salary plus uncapped incentive for hiring and retention. Earn up to $10K+, in addition to your base salary, per year with the TA Incentive Plan.
Responsibilities
What the Driver Recruiter will be doing...
  • Prescreen driver applicants while collaborating with XGS management, safety, and service center managers on staffing needs and qualifications for open positions
  • Develop an effective pipeline of qualified candidates, as business needs dictate
  • Track calls generated from all forms of advertising
  • Leverage and maintain online recruiting resources to identify and source qualified candidates
  • Be available to receive calls and contact candidates outside of normal business hours
  • Provide complete, accurate, and credible information to candidates about the company and positions
  • Participate with XGS management and service center managers in the interview process, while utilizing specific operational and safety questions
  • Use effective communication approaches that proactively keeps others informed, and appropriately expressing ideas and thoughts, both verbally and in written form on a timely basis
  • Participate in the development of ongoing creative and cost-effective recruiting and hiring strategies
  • Maintain and update candidate information through the Applicant Tracking System
  • Order and maintain MVR, DAC, PSP, CDLIS, criminal background, and other reports to ensure timely processing of applications and ensure applicants are meeting minimum hiring requirements
  • Order and track all pre-employment DOT and non-DOT drug screens
  • Request VOE's, including the outreach to prior employers, to verify an applicant's employment.
  • Meet KPIs developed for your, and the recruiting team's, success
  • Must be a self-starter who is able to take initiative, work alone and be able to work in a team environment
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with XGS management (especially service center managers), vendors, organizations, and other team members to create a partnership that yields success, predictable results, and credibility.
  • Onboard and interview as needed, strong HR background preferred
  • Other administrative duties as determined by management

Qualifications

  • iCIMS talent cloud (applicant tracking) experience
  • CDL Driver recruitment experience plus HR experience
  • Bachelor's degree pereferred. Any combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in fast paced, recruiting environment
  • 1-2 years combined experience in transportation operations or driver recruiting
  • Experience in transportation industry, highly preferred
  • Strong professional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of hiring best practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills, organized, and detail oriented
  • Desire to collaborate with team members while also working independently to manage deadlines
  • Ability to exchange information effectively in a concise and logical way
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
