  • Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month

  • Annual Salary Pay: $66,000.00 per year based on experience

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM with the flexibility to work additional hours and days to support the operational needs.

Summary
Responsible for the oversight for all driver owner/operator activities, including pick-up and delivery, port interaction, governmental regulations, customer service, reporting, and continuous improvement.
Essential Functions

  • Perform active role in dispatching and tracking of port and store delivery and LTL drivers.

  • Works directly with warehouse operations managers to facilitate an efficient and profitable flow of product.

  • Overall responsibility for the efficient operation of the dispatch, customer service, brokerage and maintenance divisions of the transportation department.

  • Efficient, timely and effective utilization and maintenance of assigned equipment.

  • Maintain expected service outlined in customer service level agreements.

  • Minimize driver turnover.

  • Maximize revenue per truck, minimize deadhead and minimize turndowns.

  • Minimize excess transportation and maintenance costs.

  • Maintain proficiency in trends and technology applicable to respective transportation activities.

  • Ensure maximum communication and coordination between the dispatch, drivers, brokers, customer service and maintenance functions and other company departments.

  • Ensure that the needs of the customers are known, respond to them, and report problems to the Transportation Manager.

  • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA and OSHA regulations.

  • Follow and monitor port activity.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Strong knowledge of trucking processes, technology, transportation, and supply chain management.
