Health Services Assistant – Nursing Department

Come join our amazing Nursing team - great daytime hours. Our Health Services Assistant provides support to adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities. Supports include coordinating, arranging, transporting to, and following up with medical appointments. Also responsible to provide clerical support to the nursing department. This is a great opportunity to add to your medical skill set - paid training and certifications provided. Full-time M-F 8:15-4:15. $15.50 per hour. Hiring Immediately. EOE

Requirements for Health Services Assistant:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, reliable transportation (proof of auto insurance is required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (and computer skills)
  • Direct experience working with people with intellectual / developmental disabilities is preferred
  • Good organizing and prioritizing skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs or ¼ of own body weight, whichever is less
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
  • Knowledge regarding the needs of individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities is beneficial
  • Beneficial experience - CNA, Non CNA, Home health, direct care, medical transport, direct support, caregiving, gait belts, personal care, hygiene assistance, medical office, Nursing office, transporting others to doctor appointments, medical advocacy, medical record keeping, medical clerical, documentation, medical assessments, sign language, arranging medical appointments, clerical support.
