Saint Cecilia Catholic School for 2026-2027 School Year
Position Summary
The Bus Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school and for school-sponsored activities. This position supports a safe, orderly environment and reflects the values of Saint Cecilia Catholic School by fostering positive, respectful relationships with students and families.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Safely transport students on a daily route to and from Poulsbo, with two designated stops in the morning and one stop in the afternoon
  • Drive students to and from field trips and school events throughout the year
  • Follow all traffic laws and school transportation policies
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful environment on the bus
  • Build and maintain friendly, respectful relationships with students and families, modeling patience and professionalism
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns
  • Regularly inspect the bus, fuel as needed, and monitor overall vehicle condition
  • Schedule and transport the bus for routine maintenance, inspections, and necessary repairs
  • Ensure accurate attendance and awareness of students riding the bus each day
  • Enforce school behavior expectations and communicate concerns to administration
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bus interior and exterior
  • Communicate effectively with school staff and families as needed
  • Be flexible with scheduling for occasional field trips or schedule adjustments
  • Organize and conduct bus evacuation drills throughout the year in coordination with school administration

Schedule
  • Daily routes before school and after school (approx. 17 hours per week)
  • PLUS Additional hours for field trips and special events as scheduled

Qualifications
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (Passenger and School Bus) BUT if not held training would be offered (must be completed for September 1st, 2026)
  • Current medical certification as required for CDL drivers
  • Clean driving record
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Ability to manage student behavior in a calm and respectful manner
  • Strong sense of responsibility and reliability

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Ability to assist students as needed entering and exiting the bus
  • Ability to conduct basic inspections of the vehicle

Pay
Starting at $28/hour Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
This position is not benefits eligible.
