Minimum 2+ years recent RN experience in Postpartum/Mother Baby required / CERTIFICATIONS – BLS and NRP required / LICENSE – Active RN License required (WA license may be pending at submission) / Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hrs/week, 13 weeks (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), every other weekend / Setting: Acute Care – Postpartum/Mother Baby / EMR: EPIC / Skills: Postpartum maternal care, newborn assessment, couplet care, breastfeeding support, neonatal stabilization, magnesium and insulin drip management, postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) protocols, hypertension management, infant hypoglycemia care, thermoregulation, pain assessment, and patient education required / Unit Details: 28-bed Postpartum unit / Ratios: 1:3–4 couplets / Common Patient Population: Postpartum mother/baby couplets, late preterm infants, bilirubin phototherapy (bili-light) babies, and preeclampsia patients / Drips: Magnesium and insulin / Charge Nurse: Dedicated charge nurse with no traveler charge responsibilities / Support Staff: One CNA per shift / OB Coverage: OB Hospitalist available 24/7 / IV Team: Available / RT & Pharmacy: Available 24/7 / Monitoring: Telemetry not required; Postpartum RNs do not interpret telemetry strips / Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend / Holiday Requirement: Rotating holidays as needed / Floating: None / Orientation: EPIC class, office orientation, and 2–3 unit-specific orientation shifts / Scrubs: Hospital-provided blue scrubs / Additional: Unit emphasizes adherence to quality bundles for postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), hypertension, infant hypoglycemia, thermoregulation, Duramorph monitoring, and pain documentation.
