Day in the Life: Logistics Manager, Drayage

To thrive in this dynamic position, you'll need a comprehensive understanding of various transportation modes and services, including expedited, intermodal, drayage, truckload warehousing, and international logistics. We're looking for a self-starter who is not only achievement-driven and goal-oriented but also a fantastic team player! If you have experience in account and relationship management and a strong desire to advance your career in logistics, this is the perfect chance for you to make a significant impact!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue and profit objectives.
  2. Develop and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring timely and efficient shipment coordination.
  3. Manage and strengthen relationships with current clients and partners while establishing rapport with potential clients to secure new accounts.
  4. Proactively identify and address needs, implement appropriate solutions quickly, and communicate effectively with customers, partner vendors, and team members.
  5. Ensure project legal documents are completed and signed by the appropriate personnel before project completion ensuring all quality, budget, timelines, and strategy expectations were met.
  6. Review and confirm carrier invoice charges, ensuring accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
  7. Create and implement ideas for division improvements, continuously seeing new partnership to expand our provider database and offerings.
  8. Manage diversified transportation modes for assigned customer accounts, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
  9. Participates in special projects and handles all other assigned duties as required.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with internal and external customers.
  2. Minimum 1 year transportation of logistics experience required.
  3. High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  4. Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to execute complex projects on schedule.
  5. Excellent analytical and technical abilities, including problem-solving and decision making.
  6. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with expertise in creating formulas, formatting, charts, pivot tables, and macros.
  7. Extensive knowledge of transportation pricing practices, tariffs, and operations, with a proven ability to support and manage diverse services.
  8. Commitment to living Company Core Values.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job operates in a physical office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; use hands, arms, and fingers to handle and lift objects up to 10 pounds.
