Job description

Position Summary


The Project Coordinator works collaboratively with other JDS employees in leading the Company toward its long-term vision of being the premier provider of engineering, design, and construction material testing in the Southeast. An employee in this position will be responsible for the accurate and timely coordination of multiple aspects of the Plans Department’s projects and processes, following JDS directives and standards, and accurately reporting project set-ups, logs, and billing sheets. The Project Coordinator is expected to act as an ambassador for the JDS brand.


Primary Responsibilities and Expectations


  • Classify a wide variety of projects and project set-ups multiple times daily.

  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget of each project assignment; including tracking, adjusting and/or verifying the status of each project with a high degree of accuracy and delivering information in a timely fashion, as required, to the DDE Director.

  • Update the Project Log and Management Log daily.

  • Update billing daily and report daily billing totals on Management Log.

  • Maintain accuracy in managing the billing procedures of the company; including receiving Project Task and Time data, entering purchase orders and invoices; verifying all client information, recording total work hours, and developing billing totals.

  • Use critical thinking and analysis to review procedures, including identifying potential inefficiencies and recommending practical solutions.

  • Updating Client Specification Documents, Plan Issues Documents, and drafting guidelines as needed.

  • Perform drafting services as deemed necessary by DDE Director.


Qualifications


Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or other equivalent technical discipline preferred.


Experience: At least three (3) years working primarily in offices as a projects-oriented drafter and project coordinator.


Skills:


  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Gmail, and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.

  • Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, the ability to multitask, and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey data both internal and external.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Google applications.

  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills with high attention to detail.

  • Must have excellent drafting skills as well as strong understanding and aptitude for the administration and coordination of multiple complex projects.
