Job description

SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Supervisor, Drafting Services manages and provides leadership for the effective and efficient delivery of drafting and spatial information services. This includes leading the delivery of innovative spatial technology solutions, and the development of related standards and procedures that add value and integrate with Corporate strategy and business unit priorities.

Position Details
  • Non-union. This position is permanent full time.

Key Accountabilities
  • Supervise the delivery of timely services for drafting, mapping, spatial products, and applications, including coordination and delegation of daily activities and monitoring level of service.

  • Provide expertise and troubleshooting support on department managed applications and products.

  • Manage drawings, maps, and spatial information to meet business needs.

  • Create and maintain external licensing and procedures for the release of spatial information to third parties and external agencies.

  • Manage and provide leadership to staff and contractors to ensure accurate and timely services.

  • Provide guidance, training, knowledge transfer, coaching, feedback and individual and team recognition, maintaining a positive and productive culture that includes safety, accountability, respect, motivation and effective communication.

  • Lead the development of innovative and strategic technology solutions for drafting, mapping, and spatial information that add value and ensure the effective utilization of resources.

  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of products, administration, and best practices.

  • Participate in the preparation of department budgets and manage assigned budgets and resources.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Geography or Engineering.

  • Five (5) years of related experience in drafting and geospatial technology with knowledge of natural gas industry, technology trends and direct experience in leading change and technology enhancements.

  • Ability to work on a team while building and maintaining effective relationships.

  • Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.

A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
