Job description

Proposed Salary Range: $14.42 - $18.03 (Depending on Experience)
Work Location: On-site (No Hybrid or Remote) at One Panasonic Dr. Columbus, GA 31907
Shift: First

The Information Systems Technician is responsible for providing day-to-day IT support to end users (onsite and remote), managing PC hardware and software, and maintaining IT assets and inventories. This role serves as the primary contact for PC-related issues, user access management, and several enterprise systems, while ensuring timely resolution of incidents and adherence to IT operational standards.

The Information Systems Technician should have the capability to read and interpret process information; and understand the impact their actions have on the quality objective.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • End User & PC Support
    • Provide day-to-day PC and IT support for all computer-related issues, resolving most issues within the same business day.
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on PCs, laptops, tablets, and smart devices.
    • Install, configure, and maintain software, including email, business applications, and standalone systems.
    • Set up PCs for new users, including hardware upgrades (memory, hard disks), software installation, and system configuration.
    • Configure Safeboot or Bitlocker, ZPA, and server folder favorites for users.
    • Manage and update TAC system requests and update status.
    • Manage shared PCs, including conference room PCs, kiosk PCs, and safety display PCs.
  • Hardware, Asset, and Inventory Management
    • Maintain and regularly update PC and printer inventory lists.
    • Manage loaner devices and training PCs, including iPhones, iPads.
    • Track inactive PCs stored in the warehouse and manage disposal paperwork for IT assets (PCs, servers, etc.).
    • Keep logs for ink cartridges, memory devices, CDs, and DVDs.
    • Manage ink and toner inventory, including ordering, installation, and printer upkeep.
  • Systems and Operational Support
    • Perform weekly server room cleaning and organization.
    • Support production applications (WinSPC, infinity Qs, bartender and Easylabel).
    • Assist on site vendors, technicians, and contractors during service work (e.g. printers, installations).
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s AA degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, one year – two years relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of PC hardware, Windows-based systems, Microsoft Office and other enterprise software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Experience managing IT inventories, logs, and documentation.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or enterprise IT environment.
