Primoris Energy Services is hiring experienced Heavy and Medium Equipment Operators for projects in and around Mulberry, Florida. The ideal candidate would have 1-5 years' experience operating a Haul/Dump Truck, Excavator, and Dozer. This project will have opportunity for overtime and per diem when requirements are met. POSITIONS NEEDED
Heavy Equipment Operator: The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various equipment such as Backhoe, Skid Steer, Excavator, Dozer, and other miscellaneous equipment. Must have thorough knowledge of the operation, safety, and maintenance of the equipment being operated. Must possess the ability to safely operate equipment in the presence of field crew members and utilities, ensuring the safety of all persons, equipment, property, and utilities in the area. Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for adhering to all safety regulations and reporting any violations to field supervision immediately.
Medium Equipment Operator: The Medium Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various equipment such as Backhoe, Skid Steer, Excavator, Dozer, and other miscellaneous equipment. Must have thorough knowledge of the operation, safety, and maintenance of the equipment being operated. Must possess the ability to safely operate equipment in the presence of field crew members and utilities, ensuring the safety of all persons, equipment, property, and utilities in the area. Medium Equipment Operators are responsible for adhering to all safety regulations and reporting any violations to field supervision immediately.
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, or grade tractors
  • Prepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation
  • Uses excavating machinery to dig holes and trenches used in structural concrete
  • Transports tools and other construction equipment to and from construction sites
  • Uses equipment to prepare building sites for exterior site concrete such as parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and loading docks
  • Operates machinery used to build bridges, roads, and railroads
  • Inspects and fuels vehicle prior to beginning shift
  • Performs routine maintenance and repairs
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
  • One (1) to five (5) years of experience with all dirt work areas, including excavation, grade work, surveying, and final excavating work
  • MSHA Experience and Certification preferred
  • Must be able to Pass Drug Test, Physical & Background Check
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities preferred
  • Ability to read building plans related to structural concrete and land grades preferred
  • Excellent mechanical skills preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Hands on leader
  • A basic understanding of how to read blueprints
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexibility & willingness to work in multiple positions to see the project completed as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace
  • Adhere to job site safety requirements as required by the client
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (I.E., hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must comply with company's drug and alcohol abuse policy
  • Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director
  • Must be able to work outdoors and withstand different weather elements
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, crawl, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, and crouch
