A dozer operator drives a bulldozer at construction sites or during other types of industrial operations. In this job, your duties include moving soil, rocks, and debris and leveling the ground. You control the tractor and also operate the shovel or blade on the front of the vehicle. Job Description Follow all health, safely, and environmental requirements; Perform cleanup duties; Perform material handling and storage duties; Identify, use, and care of common hand and power tools; Use and care of craft specific tools and equipment; Knowledge and application of craft related mathematics; Knowledge and use of safety standards and best safety practices relevant to rigging, Inspection of rigging equipment and hardware; Knowledge and application of common hitches, Emergency stop signal, Basic crane hand signals, Knot tying (bowline & clove hitch), and use of rigging equipment relevant to craft specific tasks; Identify equipment types; Perform equipment inspection, service and maintenance as required; Read and use equipment operator's manual; Assist with equipment service and maintenance; Identify components and controls of equipment; Ability to respond to equipment emergency procedures; Operates/drives bulldozer in successive passes over working area to achieve specified results, such as to raise or lower terrain to specified grade folllowing markings on grade stakes or hand signals, or to remove, dump or spread earth and rock. Grades/levels to exacting specifications for FINE/FINISH (final) grade and proof roll prep.; Feels lever and listens for stallin action of engine to estimate depth of cut; moves levers and depresses pedals to maneuver equipemtn and raise, lower, and tilt attachment to clear paths, rights-of-way, etc.; Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dozer equipment on heavy civil industrial construction site; role is critical to ensuring the smooth and accurate preparation of site, contributing to the successful completion of bridge, roadway and other infrastructure projects.; Digs trenches of specified length, depth and width; removes loosened material and places in piles for transport trucks. Levels and pushes soil, controlling the direction and angle of the dizer to move rocks, debris and other materials.; Fastens attachedment to tractor with clevis or wedge pin hitches; starts engine, moves throttle, switches and levers; depressed pedals to operate macines, equipment and attachments.; Connects hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage or power take-off shaft ti provide power to raise, lower or tilt attachments on certain equipment.; Keep equipment clean and well maintained, monitoring all engine gauges and notifying supervisor if equipment needs repair/maintenance; Interacts with construction general laborers and/or crew members who are facilitating alignment, movement, and adjustment of the equipment to complete conformation of grade specifications for the construction project.; Understand, interpret and follow all directions from supervisor, superintendents, and engineers.; Perform routine maintenance on equipment, such as lubribating, fueling and cleaning; greases, oils and performs minor repairs if reqired using grease gun, oilcans, and hand tools.; All other duties as assigned
