A Brief OverviewThe Administrative Project Technician provides administrative, technical, and operational support to the Project Development and Environmental teams. This role supports project planning, documentation, procurement coordination, and records management, while helping ensure efficient execution of projects in a regulated environment. The position serves as a key support function by coordinating activities, maintaining project documentation, assisting with compliance requirements, and supporting field and office operations.
Location: This is an in-person position located in Fairbanks, Alaska
Starting Wage Range: $37.81 - $38.67/hour
What you will do
  • Assist with scheduling and organizing meetings, conferences, and events, including logistics, document preparation, and recording minutes.
  • Manage office and operational support tasks, including supply inventory, service scheduling (e.g. shredding, facility work orders), and maintaining common areas in a professional manner.
  • Assist with procurement activities, including entering requisitions into the system, collecting, purchasing related documents, and coding receipts.
  • Attend internal and external meetings, including design reviews, and document detailed technical meeting notes.
  • Support procurement (Purchase Requisitions/Purchase Orders), contract administration, and change order tracking.
  • Provides records management assistance, including maintaining active, retired, and archived filing systems in both electronic and paper forms.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and tracking activities, including identifying and reporting issues related to timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and implementation of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Provide support to Project Managers, Engineers, and Quality Assurance staff, including field assistance with inspections, data collection, and reporting. Assist with research and analysis of certain project components.
  • Assist with developing, updating and managing project documentation, including tracking project numbers and maintaining project-related systems, including SharePoint site.
  • Learn, adopt, and apply safety programs.

Conditions of EmploymentMust pass a pre-employment drug test, random drug test thereafter in accordance with the published policy of Doyon Utilities. Must have a valid driver's license issued by the State of Alaska. Must be eligible to work on a military installation in Alaska. Eligibility to work on a military installation includes compliance with Department of Defense mandates with respect to employee background and health directives.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Associate's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience may be substituted at a 2:1 ratio (e.g. two years of education equals one year of experience). Preferred
  • 3 years of relevant experience in direct support of engineering, construction project management, or environmental functions, including scheduling, managing documentation, and cross-team coordination. Required
