Job description

Description The Dougherty County Facilities Management Department is hiring for a Custodian. The purpose of this position is to maintain a clean, sanitary and safe environment for assigned Dougherty County Facilities. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

Essential Tasks Maintains the interior cleaning of assigned facilities. Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms and water fountains; restocks restroom supplies. Sweeps, mops, strips, waxes and buffs floors.

Vacuums and shampoos carpets. Empties, cleans, and relines trash containers. Cleans mirrors, windows, and blinds.

Cleans up chemical spills. Dusts and cleans base boards, walls, and counter tops. Delivers, sets up, and takes down voting booths for elections.

Changes light bulbs. Performs related work as assigned. Minimum Qualification High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

One (1) year of cleaning or maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Supplemental Information Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Performs medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, dancing, stretching, or lifting all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or exceptional skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving very close tolerances or limits of accuracy.

None Special Certifications And Licenses: Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
