DOT SAFETY ADMINISTRATOR
Summary:

As a DOT Safety Administrator, you will be responsible for various DOT-related and non-DOT driver administrative functions in the EH&S Group. Typical duties to include but are not limited to: DOT driver qualification, administering the FMCSA Clearinghouse, tracking driver's license and/or medical card expiration dates, update all driver qualification files (CDL and non-CDL), tracking all incoming Driver's Alert calls, and tracking Driver education, all while maintaining full compliance with company, client and state/federal safety regulations. The DOT Safety Administrator will also assist the EHS Systems Manager with tasks related to the Samsara telematics platform. The salary range is $58,000.00 - $63,000.00.

Responsibilities:
  • CDL Driver qualifications - input all new driver information into system
  • Track when driver licenses and/or medical cards are expiring and communicate this information to supervision
  • Review driving records on all active employees for violations and communicate to the appropriate Operations personnel
  • Administer the company May Not Drive list
  • Review driving records on continuous basis from SuperVision and communicate any safety violations.
  • Provide employment validation for all DOT previous employment requests from other companies.
  • Administer the FMCSA Clearinghouse and input driver queries as required
  • Monitoring the incoming Driver's Alert calls and making sure the calls are dealt with by the appropriate manager and signed off by the involved employee, updating website info.
  • Assist in providing assistance to Driver Safety Program with referring drivers to class as needed.
  • Filing various Safety related information.
  • Provide assistance to other Safety administrative positions when necessary.
  • Actively participate in all Safety group required meetings and functions.
  • Perform additional related day-to-day duties, as the demand arises.
  • May include review all Fleet vehicle inspection logs and archive
  • Support the EHS Systems Manager in the administration and maintenance of the Samsara telematics platform
  • Assist in onboarding drivers and vehicles into Samsara, ensuring accurate system setup and data integrity
  • Assist in monitoring telematics data (e.g., driver behavior, safety events, vehicle diagnostics) and escalate findings as appropriate
  • Support the generation and distribution of reports related to driver performance, safety trends, and compliance metrics
  • Assist in troubleshooting system issues and coordinating with vendors or internal IT as needed

Education, Skills, Experience Needed:
  • 1-2 years previous experience with DOT driver file maintenance
  • Familiarity with all DOT rules/regulations and corporate Safety policies and procedures
  • Strong oral, written, grammatical, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Interface with all positions in the Company, including Operations and other groups
  • Being discreet in handling of confidential employee information required of the position
  • Accountable for assuring that all work is performed properly and that all procedures are followed and requirements met
  • Judgment and decision-making level is high
  • Timely and accurate communication of information
  • Ensure internal and external customer needs are met
