Shift: Graveyard (1:00 AM - 9:30 AM)

Minimum Hiring Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport badging.
  • Must successfully pass a 20-year FBI background investigation with no disqualifying felony convictions.
  • Must meet all airport badging requirements.
  • Must pass a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Applicants cannot have failed a DOT drug test within the past two years.
  • DOT regulations prohibit the use of THC.

Position Summary
The Unarmed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of employees, visitors, company property, and client assets. This position includes employee screening using walkthrough and handheld metal detectors, monitoring access points, conducting patrols, responding to security concerns, and enforcing company policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control employee access points, ensuring only authorized personnel enter the facility.
  • Screen employees using walkthrough and handheld metal detectors.
  • Conduct routine interior and exterior security patrols.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity and potential security risks.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents.
  • Enforce company security and safety policies.
  • Operate radios, PDA devices, access control systems, and security equipment.
  • Complete accurate electronic or written activity logs and incident reports.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations and preserve evidence when necessary.
  • Coordinate with airport authorities, law enforcement, and emergency responders as needed.
  • Provide professional and courteous assistance to employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must:
  • Possess a valid Nevada Security Officer Work Card.
  • Pass a 20-year FBI background investigation and airport badging process.
  • Pass pre-employment and random DOT drug and alcohol testing.
  • Have strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Respond professionally during emergencies and high-stress situations.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or possess valid authorization to work in the United States.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Have a working cell phone and email address.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Security Officer or in a similar role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
  • Excellent attendance and dependability.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • Maintain alertness throughout the shift.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment as necessary.
  • Availability to work the scheduled graveyard shift (1:00 AM - 9:30 AM), including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Shifts may change as needed.
