Job description

Position: Certified Medical Examiner (Nurse Practitioner)
Schedule: Mon-Fri 7am-3pm
Compensation: $65-75/hr
Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive DOT physical examinations in accordance with FMCSA regulations

  • Evaluate drivers' medical history, medications, and overall health to determine fitness for duty

  • Conduct required screenings including vision, hearing, blood pressure, and urinalysis

  • Interpret and apply FMCSA medical standards to issue, deny, or limit medical certifications

  • Accurately document exam findings and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations

  • Provide education to drivers regarding medical conditions, follow-up requirements, and certification status

  • Maintain active DOT Medical Examiner certification and stay current with regulatory updates

  • Required Skills
    • Master of Science degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree required
    • Board certification is required
    • Valid medical license in the State(s) of practice
    • DOT certification or open to obtaining certification
