Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to department goals by supporting project delivery, fees, and profit objectives.
- Lead construction engineering inspections (CEI) for roadway and infrastructure projects.
- Perform complex daily inspections of grading, paving, drainage, bridges, and structures.
- Supervise and mentor junior inspectors, providing technical guidance in the field.
- Maintain detailed daily logs, records, field measurements of pay items, and inspection reports.
- Conduct or oversee quality assurance sampling and testing of construction materials.
- Ensure contractor compliance with DOT standards, project specifications, and safety regulations.
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, and engineers.
- Research field conditions and recommend solutions to construction issues.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of roadway or transportation construction inspection experience required.
