CEI Inspector (DOT)
Career Area: Construction Services
What We're Looking For:
Barge is looking for a CEI Inspector to perform technical assignments including inspection of roadway and bridge construction activities; oversight of contractor daily operations; performing materials sampling and verification testing; plans reading; field surveying and construction engineering computations. Monitor construction progress, verify work completed and assist with construction pay estimates and senior inspector responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Inspect construction work
  • Conduct field tests
  • Assist Senior Inspector

Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • 2 years of experience in construction inspection

  • 1 year in roadway and / or bridge construction

Ideal candidate shall possess the following Qualifications/Certifications:
  • OSHA 10 Safety Training Construction (All field personnel)

  • TDOT:

  • Asphalt Roadway Paving Inspector

  • Class 1 Concrete Technician

  • Asphalt Plant Tech Certification

  • Soils and Aggregate Technician

  • TDEC:

  • EPSC Level 1 - For inspectors conducting EPSC inspections

  • EPSC Level 2 - For supervisors of EPSC inspections

  • Nuclear Gauge Training

  • Work Zone Traffic Control and Flagger

(Candidates that possess some, but not all, of the above are eligible for employment consideration provided said certifications can be obtained within six months)
