Job description

Seeking a seasoned, dedicated and skilled garage door installer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of garage door / opener installation in a residential setting and commercial setting is a plus. They must have a mechanically inclined ability for problem solving, knowledge of various hand and power tools, be able to assist with heavy lifting  of 75-100 lbs., specifically overhead (THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE). This specific roll requires a solid understanding of safety protocols. Work hours are 40 hours a week with work days starting at 8am. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be customer service oriented and respectful, at all times. Our job locations vary each day as we cover a wide area, to include Williamsburg, The Eastern Shore, OBX and everywhere in between.

  • Assist in the installation of residential and commercial garage doors, including sectional, rolling steel, and custom doors.

  • Load and unload equipment, materials, and tools required for each job.

  • Operate power, hand tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Participate in the measurement and layout of door openings to ensure proper installation.

  • Assist in the troubleshooting and diagnosis of garage door problems.

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on garage doors and related equipment.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.

  • Complete required documentation and paperwork accurately and promptly.

  • Communicate with customers in a professional and courteous manner to address their concerns and answer questions.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects weighing 75-100 lbs.overhead (THIS IS A MUST) 

  • Must be able to work at heights up to 10'consistently and occasionally 20' on scissor lift

  • Knowledge of basic power tools and construction practices.

  • Strong communication and self motivated

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (A MUST).

  • Must have a clean record and be able to pass a back ground check.

Compensation and Benefits:

This position typically offers an hourly wage with opportunities for increase depending on the installers knowledge, skills and experience. Benefits may include healthcare of which half of the single rate will be company paid, paid time off, life insurance and holidays as stated in company handbook which will be discussed upon hire. 

Hours and Scheduling:

This is a full-time position with hours varying depending on job requirements. Overtime and weekend work may be required at times.
