Job Title: Door Host

Alternate Title: Greeter, Cashier, Hostess

Reports to: Manager on Duty

Classification: Hourly

General Job Description:

The Hostess acts as the first impression for all guests. She greets each guest warmly and provides information about the club. She is responsible for the collection of door charges and issuing tickets, coupons, and other items provided to the guests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain required dress code, appearance, and hygiene.
  • Greet all guests both entering and leaving the club.
  • Collect door charges, cover charges, and issue entry tickets, coupons, and other items to the guests.
  • Issue bills, accept payment, and accurately operate POS technology.
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the shift and be able to account for any and all discrepancies in the final drawer tally.
  • Communicate club rules and requirements to guests before allowing them entrance.
  • Assist Server staff as needed.
  • Develop an efficient work pace that always keeps the guests at the bar and in the club satisfied.
  • Reviews all guest’s identification prior to entry and denies access to underage, intoxicated, and obnoxious guests.
  • Identify and report underage guests to the management and staff.
  • Partner with club and bar staff to identify and report intoxicated guests.
  • Identify and report to management any and all illegal activities occurring in the club or on the club property including parking lot, access areas, and alleyways.
  • Identify and report all environment safety or security problems to club staff and management.
  • Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude.
  • Comply with all regulations and training.
  • Effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and guests.
  • Collaborate with other club staff and bar staff.
  • Promote guest loyalty.
  • Act only to promote the success of the club, its employees, and its guests.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Capable of lifting 20-pound boxes and standing for an 8- hour shift.
  • Flexible, autonomous, and well-organized.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required.
