Donor Development Manager Jobs in Indiana (NOW HIRING)

General Summary
The Fort Wayne Philharmonic is looking for a fast-learning, outgoing professional to assist the Development department with in-office operations as well as execution of the Annual Fund campaign and other development related events including an annual fundraiser. This role works closely with the full Development team to reach fundraising goals, provide exceptional donor stewardship, support special events, and maintain financial records and systems for contributed revenue. The Philharmonic is creating a fast paced, "can do" and collaborative work culture where internal customer service and courtesy toward one's colleagues are as valued as interactions with external constituents.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain the integrity of the Philharmonic's donor database (Tessitura) by accurately updating constituent records, donor coding, and mailing lists to ensure timely movement through the development pipeline.
• Process donor gifts, pledges, and payments accurately and in a timely manner while maintaining complete and accurate donor records.
• Prepare and distribute gift acknowledgments within 72 hours of receipt, ensuring tax receipts are accurate, donor recognition levels are updated, and all associated donor benefits are fulfilled.
• Provide comprehensive database support for the Development Department, including data extraction, list generation, constituent record maintenance, membership management, campaign reporting, and analysis of fundraising trends.
• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the Philharmonic's Annual Fund direct mail campaigns, including donor segmentation, renewal and acquisition strategies, vendor coordination, mailing schedules, and campaign reporting.
• Respond to donor inquiries promptly, returning calls within one business day and providing exceptional customer service that reflects the Philharmonic's commitment to donor engagement.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute donor cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising events, including donor receptions, appreciation events, open rehearsals, annual fundraising events, and other engagement opportunities that strengthen relationships with current and prospective supporters.
• Manage all event logistics, including invitations, RSVPs, timelines, vendor coordination, event materials, and on-site execution to ensure a high-quality donor experience.
• Track and evaluate event participation, attendance, donor engagement, and return on investment, providing recommendations to enhance future events and stewardship efforts.
• Represent the Philharmonic professionally at donor events, concerts, and community engagements, serving as a knowledgeable and welcoming ambassador for the organization.
• Deliver exceptional internal and external customer service while fostering meaningful relationships with donors, patrons, volunteers, board members, and community partners in support of the Philharmonic's mission.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Development Department and the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.
  Reporting Relationships

• Reports to the Director of Development
• Works closely with members of the Marketing, Education and Finance teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of one (1) year increasingly responsible development, non-profit, or related administrative experience.
• Background and/or interest in symphonic music or the arts is desirable.
• Extensive computer skills - familiarity with databases (Tessitura preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft, including but not limited to Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Ability to adjust schedule as needed for support at functions, which frequently occur on evenings and weekends.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent writing, critical thinking, strategic planning, problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Team player.

Compensation:
