Location Gurnee - Head Office, United States

Job Title: DP Technical Product Manager

Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 (based on qualifications)

Position Summary

This position is responsible for all technical aspects of their assigned products. This role has cross functional responsibility and interacts with all departments on matters relating to their products. The role is primality one of development and will focus on the development of the necessary technical skills within each department to enable them to provide the support needed by the business. This role will also liaise with Domino Group personnel to ensure a strong, collaborative relationship exists with the group technical representatives.

Main Responsibilities/Essential Functions
  • Manage product training structure
  • Ensure training materials are complete and up to date
  • Ensure trainers are well versed and capable of delivering fundamentals
  • Support training efforts to provide expert level instruction
  • Provide escalation management
  • Take responsibility for the speedy resolution of all product-related technical issues
  • Support the overall escalation process and provide insight and expert level diagnosis as needed
  • Liaise with group Technical Support Groups to ensure strong working relationships and an adequate network of contacts exist to support local escalation efforts
  • Manage and distribute all technical documentation associated with assigned products
  • Take responsibility for the content management and effectiveness of all technical documents, within your given areas of responsibility, on the Knowledgebase System
  • Provides technical product support to sales and project management team including: pre-sales support (as needed)
  • Fully support trade show events
  • Supports Commercial training. Work with the Commercial Product Manager(s) to create agendas and deliver portions of the training
  • Partners with the Commercial Product Manager(s) to drive and manage Channel Readiness document (CPM has ultimate ownership, but TPM plays a significant role)
  • Manages trial program

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field required
  • At least 5 years in a related technical, service or military role.
  • Previous experience in product management, product ownership, or technical product management a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Willing to travel up to 40%

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel; PowerPoint, Word, Access and other database packages.
  • Strong background in troubleshooting and configuring Windows PCs, computer networks, and applications.
  • Knowledge of PLC communications and industrial protocols such as Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, etc.
  • Familiarity with factory automation solutions in production line environments.
  • Knowledge of control systems, network topology and enterprise systems.
Physical Demands
  • Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves exerting no more than 10 pounds of force at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. A certain amount of walking and standing may be necessary in carrying out job duties.
