We offer a hybrid 3‑2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Dominion Energy seeks qualified candidates to fill one position at either the Engineer or Senior Engineer level at Millstone Nuclear Station located in Waterford, CT. This position will provide procurement engineering support of electrical and electronic systems that support nuclear power generations.

This role is a second level position that is responsible for specifying technical and quality requirements to support acceptance of electrical and I&C materials and services that support nuclear plant operations. The candidate will proficiently perform assignments having the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience needed to carry out all aspects of the job. The candidate shall exercise independent judgement and decision‑making in planning, organizing and conducting work assignments. Instructions and guidance may be received on unusual or complex problems and the candidate should know when to get others involved. The candidate should effectively utilize the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered in work assignments while identifying and eliminating unnecessary work and non‑value‑added activities.

• Develop technical and quality assurance specifications in support of purchasing nuclear plant materials and services, derived from a detailed knowledge of plant system design and programmatic requirements.
• Develop commercial grade dedication plans for acceptance testing and inspection of commercial grade products in accordance with EPRI NP‑5652 to verify suitability for use as a basic component in accordance with 10 CFR 21.3.
• Perform evaluations of alternate replacement items to meet system and component design basis requirements.
• Identify failure effects and perform failure modal analysis of a variety of electrical and electronic commodities, analog and digital systems and sub‑systems, instrumentation and control equipment, and power generating and distribution equipment.
• Serve as the Technical Specialist in support of quality assurance audits and surveys at vendor’s facilities in support of product manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with nuclear quality assurance requirements and industry standards.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Engineer: 2+ years of electrical engineering experience.

Senior Engineer: 5+ years of electrical engineering experience.

• Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles.
• Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices.
• Knowledge of various computer applications, with the ability to manipulate data and personal computer applications to arrive at informed technical decisions (MS Office, SAP, Maximo, etc.).

• Ability to process information quickly and effectively manages multiple tasks.

• Design Experience of Electrical Power Distribution, Replacement item evaluations, Commercial Grade off the Shelf, Electrical System Protection, and Electrical Industrial Control Systems for Power Stations or other larger Industrial Facilities.
• Familiarity with Industrial Electrical and Mechanical systems and components (HVAC, Pumps, Piping, Motors, Generators, Molded Case Circuit Breakers, Fire Protection, Cables, Electrical System Protection, Motor Starters, Control Devices, HMI, etc.).
• Knowledge of Commercial Nuclear Codes, Standards and Regulations.

Required Degree (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree):

Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering

REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA: For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:

• Possess a 4‑year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET.
• Possess a 4‑year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved.
• Possess a 4‑year degree in Engineering (non‑ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post‑graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET‑accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET.
• Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.

Dominion Energy minimum experience and education requirements may exceed stated ANSI standards and candidates must meet the Dominion Energy minimum requirements.

For Nuclear employees, this ANSI standard must be met, all of which is met or exceeded in the Engineer series job summaries with the exception of the Nuclear Power experience requirement of at least 1 year:

ANSI/ANS‑3.1‑2014, Section 4.6.1 Education requirements: Baccalaureate or associate degree in engineering or related science. Minimum experience for the position: Related experience which shall include 2 years; Nuclear power plant experience to include 1 year.

Expected Hiring Base Salary Range:

Engineer Salary – $86,000 to $111,700

Senior Engineer Salary – $95,500 to $124,000

The expected hiring base salary range is the range we anticipate hiring within for this position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and work location. This is not intended to represent the full salary range for the position or limit future compensation growth.
