Full-Time Biology Teacher

Rosary College Prep โ€“ Aurora, Illinois

Rosary College Prep, an all-girls Catholic Dominican college preparatory high school, seeks a dedicated and mission-driven full-time Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will teach a combination of Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Forensic Science courses while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific literacy in a college preparatory environment.

The ideal candidate will be committed to academic excellence, student engagement, and the holistic development of young women. As a member of the Rosary community, the teacher will support the school's Catholic Dominican mission by creating a classroom environment that encourages intellectual growth, personal responsibility, and respect for all.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Teach Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Forensic Science courses using engaging, student-centered instructional practices.
  • Develop lesson plans, assessments, and laboratory experiences that promote inquiry, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment that supports student learning and growth.
  • Monitor and communicate student progress with students, parents, and school personnel.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records.
  • Provide academic support through student intervention, tutoring, and office hours.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, retreats, liturgies, and other school activities.
  • Support and uphold the mission, values, and traditions of Rosary College Prep.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Science Education, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate science endorsement or ability to obtain licensure.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of biological sciences and laboratory instruction.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and the development of young women as leaders.
