Job description

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily front-desk operations, appointment scheduling, and reception coverage Supervise and train reception employees
  • Handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally
  • Manage pet check-in and check-out, including reviewing grooming instructions, safely bringing dogs to and from the salon area, and organizing their leashes and belongings Ensure client, pet, service, and appointment information is entered accurately Support rebooking, add-on services, customer retention, reviews, and referrals Resolve routine front-desk issues independently and keep the owner informed of important concerns
  • Assist with front-desk responsibilities during busy periods or when additional coverage is needed

Qualifications

  • Previous management or supervisory experience in a professional pet-care environment Strong customer-service, communication, and organizational skills Experience working with dogs and familiarity with common dog breeds and temperaments Comfortable safely handling dogs of different sizes Able to multitask, make decisions, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment Reliable, professional, and comfortable using computers and scheduling software Schedule, Compensation, and Benefits Full-time, five-day workweek Saturday availability is required; the additional day off will be scheduled during the week Salon is open Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays $22–$25 per hour, based on relevant experience 90-day performance and compensation review Eligible for quarterly performance bonuses based on established goals Opportunities for future pay increases based on performance and responsibilities New Jersey earned sick leave One week of paid vacation after one year of employment
