Dog groomers perform a variety of cleaning and hygiene tasks for dogs to help them look their best and prevent possible illness. Your responsibilities may include cutting a dog’s nails to prevent them from breaking, bathing and shampooing the dog, or even styling the fur. In some salons, these services are divided up between bathers and groomers. However, many groomers perform all of the tasks. As a dog groomer, your job duties are to perform these required tasks while putting the dog at ease as much as possible. Many dogs do not like being touched by strangers, let alone having their fur washed and cut. It’s important to communicate with clients if behavioral issues affect the grooming.
