About the Job:
We are a doggy day camp and overnight boarding facility that cares for dogs 365 days a year, including weekends and every holiday. 
Camp Counselors are the heart of the Camp Bow wow operation. We are seeking PATIENT, hard-working, observant, reliable, dog-loving team players! Must be willing to clean up messes, supervise play group, and monitor health and behavior. Attention to detail is a MUST!
Canine experience is preferred, but everyone is trained the same, regardless of experience, so it’s not necessary.
Shifts: 
  • Monday-Friday.
  • 6am-1pm.               
  • 3pm-8pm shift for high school students (starting school year).
  • 1pm-8pm.

Saturday:
  • 630am-1pm.
  • 1pm-730pm.

Sunday/Holidays:
  • 630am-12.
  • 2pm-7pm.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Monitor up to 25 dogs in play yards.
  • Maintain a clean environment – we use pet safe chemicals to clean constantly throughout the day.
  • Feeding, medications, cleaning cabins, and lifting heavy items.
  • Maintain the ultimate in safety standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Basic dog grooming – baths and nail trims.
  • Fill in other roles at Camp when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills:
  • PATIENCE - Dogs can push your buttons and require a lot of redirection in a group environment.
  • Self-starter: organized and eagle-eyed.
  • Must be punctual.
  • Energetic and outgoing with an upbeat and positive personality.
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • MUST LOVE DOGS.

Requirements:
  • Must be at least 17 years of age.
  • Must be punctual.
  • Must be able to work most weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to walk and stand during the entire 4,6, or 8-hour shift.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs.

Working Conditions:
  • Must be available (with advance notice) to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Position will include standing for extended periods, bending, walking, exposure to cleaning chemicals, and dog fur/hair, and exposure to loud noise.
  • Be able to work in all weather conditions.
